Commissioning Editor
Halsgrove is looking for a talented Commissioning Editor to support the Publishers within the Halsgrove team. The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate some years experience in this role within general trade publishing. They should be fully competent in Quark and Photoshop as a minimum. This is a rare opportunity to join our creative team at a level which will allow considerable input in creating the lists which are at the forefront of our expansion. Some experience in the field of foreign rights would be an advantage. Our attractive location on the Somerset/Devon border may attract relocation and our team work both at our Wellington distribution centre and remotely, linked through the web. Account Executive
Halsgrove is greatly expanding its list during 2008. We have a vacancy for an additional account executive to work on new and backlist titles. Working within a successful small team selling to the UK trade, you will have an interest in books and the ability to establish long term relationships with our customers. Whilst full product training will be given, we will expect you to be able to demonstrate a solid background of sales experience in an environment where you have organised your own time and achieved sustained results. Exceptional individuals from a non sales background may be considered if they can demonstrate skills which may readily transfer to this role. 2008 will be an exciting time to join our rapidly growing business. Telesales Assistant

Halsgrove publishing has a vacancy for a telesales assistant, selling direct to the trade. Full/part time hours. Working with our telesales manager, this is an opportunity to learn the business. Starting with ensuring our trade customers are aware of every new title, you'll be handling your own client list within a few weeks. Demonstrating potential rather than experience is the key to securing this role. The ability to assimilate detail of almost one thousand books and infectious enthusiasm is essential. Based in a friendly, modern office on the outskirts of Wellington, Somerset. Freelance Designers
With considerable expansion anticipated in the Halsgrove list over the next eighteen months, we are looking to increase the pool of freelance designers we use regularly as part of a streamlined production process. You will generally work to a template format in QuarkXpress using given style sheets and libraries although there are a number of projects requiring original design input. You will also provide trade packs for our sales team along with sample images and captions for our extranet.
